Let's Make Some Soup Ya'll ...................
I have been under the weather the last few days. I think it is just a cold ; sniff, sniff. I wanted some soup, so I thought I would share my recipe with you.I have made this soup for years and years. I started making this soup when my kids were little. We didn't have much money back then and this always made alot with some left over. The left overs are even better the next day.
Ok, to start this soup off I brown my hamburger and onion together.Salt and pepper.
Peel your potatoes , as many as you want.Cut them into chunks.Add the veggies, you can use canned or frozen. You don't have to put the green limas if you don't like them. I always add them because I think it adds a good taste to the soup. Then pour in the whole can of tomato juice. Add more water to bring the level up to near the top of your dutch oven.
Let it come to a boil and then turn it down pretty low.Put you a lid on it and cock it to the side as Pickett says. LOL .I let this cook all day long.
Oh my gosh , do you see all that margarine I used ! That is the best part ! I am like Paula Deen ; I LOVE BUTTER ! I love margarine just as well.
I always like to make Mexican cornbread to have with this. Boy howdy, I think I will go get me a big bowl full right now !

Oh Theresa that sounds so wonderful! Especially in the cold winter!! Thanks for sharing such a budget conscience recipe, we can all use a couple extra nickels to rub together LOL!

You must be related to Paula! I guess the meat is lean. But that's Parkay, and that's part water, so it doesn't count. Paula uses REAL BUTTER. Anyway, it looks good, and I hope you get to feeling better.
I love soup Theresa...so much that we are having cheesy potatoe tonight. I will add this to my list for later this week!
Yummmm!
(I could live on soup and PBJ's...if Cowboy could)
Hope you are feeling ontop of the weather now!
~Many hugs~
Barb

Hi Theresa, I really hope that you are feeling better. If Paula does it, it has to be okay. I had crab cakes at her restaurant in Savannah. Your soups really looks delicious. There is nothing better on a cold day then a bowl of hot soup.

Hello my sweet and funny friend, You are the blogging friend that always gives me a chuckle or a good laugh. I love to visit you Theresa.
I just said goodbye to 10 days of company. My time has not been my own. Today I am supposed to take down Christmas. Don't be laughing at me now. I left everything up for my grands. That was my excuse anyway. Now I just want my house back to normal. I have to be organized before I have my other knee replaced on Feb. 2nd. Ouch!!!
Right now I am enjoying time to visit my sweet blogging friends. I could do this all day but my house is calling for HELP!
Love...Jeanne
Now how did that happen? I hit the wrong button. LOL.
Hugs...Jeanne

Hey girl, just stopping to say hello. What have you been up to? Sure wish I had some of that good soup you made. I;m sure it is long gone. My time is my own again and it feels pretty good. I do miss everyone. I do love the quiet too. Smile.
We finally got our car up the driveway today. It has been parked at the foot of our driveway for 5 days. Ice was the problem. It's a pretty good walk up to our house too. Exercise is good. Have a great evening.
Hugs...Jeanne
