Oh my aching back .................

Well we decided to have a garden this year . It is a 24x24 plot. I am in the process of getting all of the grass clumps out of it . These veggies had better grow is all I can say. I have got to get this finnished today because they said it is going to rain for the next 4 days . I am going to try to get my cabbage and broccoli plants in today and my onions. My back is about to kill me ! Whine, whine, whine ! LOL .

I don't want to laugh, but I did the same thing- not as large(thats for sure) but for days, I couldn't figure out why my back felt like I had been punched in my kidneys! Then it finally donned on me- the little tiller! It got me!
I left you something over at my blog!

Oh, my goodness, I would think so!

It seems like more and more people are planning gardens this year.

How are your roses?

Good for you. I know a lot more people are planting gardens to save money and again grow their own foods. I going to plant a few things myself.

I don't have the land, but planters will do.

Poor baby. While you resting that tired back, consider having someone else do the work. In fact, that's what my post is all about today!

Hope you get some well deserved rest tonight, but just think of the satisfaction when you taste the fruits of your labor! Your soil looks nice and rich. We had a lovely garden at one time with beans, tomatoes, zucchini, swiss chard, and cabbage. But instead of rich soil, we have a lot of decomposed granite. Hard as a rock! Good luck with your plantings!

Sounds like you'll be harvesting some YUMMY things - and spending some time recuperating from planting it all!

I hope you enjoy your garden. I prefer the silk variety of plants (I don't tend to kill them as fast,ha).

When I was a child growing up on the farm, I swore that I would NEVER AGAIN plant a garden when I got be my own boss! I have pretty much stuck to that, but have been seriously considering some container gardening this year. I just feel the need to dig in the dirt for some reason. Oh Lord, am I turning into my parents???!!! :(

I hadn't considered how gardening could get to a back. I guess I have childish memories because realisticly it would get to mine as well these days. I picked alot of beans in my childhood. We always had a wonderful garden. May the rain and the sun shine softly on your little patch of dirt.

Theresa! Ouch! But I admire you, girl! My grandparents always had a fabulous garden, and I can kill a plant by looking at it. LOL! Oh, how I wish I could have a garden and that things would actually grow!

XO,

Sheila :-)

I love getting my hands dirty in the soil. Gardening helps me stay grounded. I think it is something about watching something grow from a seed to something that you can eat. I've planted seeds and will be tilling soon. I'll keep looking at your pic for inspiration. Rest the back and then enjoy the fruits of your labor.
