My Blue Monday ..........................

Hi everybody ! My blue item for today is my blue and white rabbit . He is the keeper of this cabinet he is in . Do you wanna hear the story of this rabbit ? Ok here goes . As you know I used to be a hairdresser. I had a customer that worked downtown at the bank and one day on her lunch hour she found these beautiful rabbits at an expensive jewelry store we have here . She bought one and took a pic of it and when she came to get her hair done she showed it to me, because she knew I liked this type of stuff. She knew I was a sucker is what she knew ! LOL . Anyway she said the rabbit was made from the original molds from ,and I don't know if I am spelling this right or not ......... deftware or dreftware. I said oh I would love to have one of these but I really can't afford it .
So she came up with the plan ! She said she would put it on her charge card and instead of me paying her card I could give her a perm and a frosting for it . I said DEAL !! It didn't cost me hardly nothing in product , but it did in time. The rabbit is about 15 years old and he cost $ 85.00 back then . That was alot of money to me .
But she was always an easy customer to please , so it was a pleasure. I think of Joann everytime I pass by the rabbit . I haven't seen Joann but one time in 8 years, but she still sends me a Christmas card every year . I did her hair every week for over 20 years. She was one of my most treasured customers.

Blue Monday is hosted by Sally at Smiling Sally, to see more pretty blues just click on the pretty blue bird in my sidebar to your right .

Bunnies and hairdressers are close to my heart, too, so I especially enjoyed reading your post.

BG or Bunny Girl, is my younger daughter. She collects bunnies. I will show her your beautiful bunny photo, as soon as I finish this.

My older daughter is a hairdresser, although, she only does it on the side, these days. I know she will enjoy hearing about your " bunny barter". I will email her the link.

Thanks for sharing your treasures.

What a neat story. I gave similar rabbits to my DIL many years ago. They did not cost THAT much, so they were not the same thing. However, they had a look much like this one. Happy Blue Monday!

Theresa, that is one very cute rabbit! I think I would have traded for it, too, as he is just adorable. He is probably made from the old molds. They do that sometimes... with things like Delft and also with Staffordshire. If he goes missing, he might have hopped off with a certain magpie we both know! ;-)

Happy Blue Monday!

XO,

Sheila :-)
