Thought I Would Share My Little Table With You ...........

I got this little table a few weeks ago . There was something about it that I just liked . My pics are too dark , but I think you can tell alittle about it. It has a drop leaf , but only on one side. And it is on rollers that roll really well . This little table is called a tea table . I got it at an English antique store near us. They have really great prices on all their stuff. I paid $25.00 for this piece.

Here it is opened up. To open it , you just lift the leaf, reach under and pull out to the side and it makes it a nice size table to have tea for two !
The big doll sitting on the table is called a piano doll. I have had her about 25 years or longer. My , my how time does fly, it seems like I just bought her yesterday. I got the plate at a flea market a long time ago too .
I really didn't need this table , I will probably resell it . I don't know about where you gals live but I think some of the antique malls are having a hard time. I was in one last week and quite a few booths were having 50% off. And some of the stores had alot of empty booths also. Have a great day dear ones !

I love your doll! I just love it!

I think we are in for very hard times, I don't know what the new president has in mind for us, and that has me a bit worried.

I'm also a bit worried because I grew up on stories of the depression (oh, please not now), and my husband just retired.

Maybe if we were 20 years younger we (my husband and I) would just see this as a down time and keep going. But now it is now and we are looking at savings going poof.

Do you have a booth in an antique mall? I often thought of doing that, but can't seem to find the time to do it for fun. I guess it's a good thing right now. The table is cute. I imagine you can find alot of nice things to display on it. I've never seen a piano doll before, but she is adorable & of course I love the plate! Have a great weekend!

Hello Theresa, Boy I was late getting my post up today. Whew. I worked so hard last night baking etc. I fell asleep trying to write my post. I finally gave up and went to bed. I baked all those goodies while my dh was at bowling. He didn't discover them until this AM. LOL. Was he shocked. I promise to take good care of my quilt for you.

I adore your piano baby. You can hardly find the vintage ones now. There are lots of reproduced ones though. Your table is wonderful and a great price. You have a good eye girl.

My sister's are in the antique business and there is a definite slow down in sales. They do shows and that helps. They sell in Atlanta and that is a good market most of the time.

Gotta take a nap so bye for now.

Love, Jeanne

Morning, Theresa. I love that table and can't believe the price you got for it!! My mother has a couple of these piano dolls - they used to scare my daughter when she was little! lol
Be a sweetie,

No, no, no--don't sell that precious table! Or if you do, call me, and I'll buy it. Oh, I really like that style of furniture. Thanks for sharing it.

Oh Theresa, that table is so neat! Why on earth would you think of selling it?! My cousin builds shaker-style furniture and he made me a dropleaf table a few years ago. My Gram always had one and I wanted one...so Now I do! I only "place" decor on it, not used for eating as Gram did.
BTW...your floor is gorgeous!!
Have a great weekend my Friend~

Hi Theresa
Your piano doll is gorgeous. I love her! She is just adorable...lucky you for having her.

I like your table too...a tea table that is interesting. While I was waiting for the picture to download I wondered whether it would be like a table of mine that opens up as you described yours did.

I'll have to take a picture of it and show you. It was my mother-in-laws and I know she had had it the 36 since I first met her. I'm not sure how many years she had it. Anyway I will let you know when I take a pic of it. Yours really looks to be in really good shape too and what a bargain! I wouldn't get rid of it.

I'm not seeing that here in Ontario...antiques are still expensive. Its good for the buyer but it really makes me feel so bad to know things are not so good.

Hope you have a good evening though.
