Rambling the roads on Signal Mtn. ............

Signal Mtn. is about 40 minutes from my house , it is the next mtn. over from ours . There are lots of old homes on this mtn. and there are alot of very , very expensive homes here too. But where I don't know, everytime we have been up here we can never find the expensive homes! They really must have them well hidden. I know some builders that have worked on some of them and I am going to get directions . I think just about every doctor and lawyer in Chattanooga lives up here. I couldn't get any good pics today because they have so many trees in their yards. And alot of them are further back from the road.

Now to my pic above. I believe this is an old playhouse. I thought it was so cute, and I love the setting around it. Isn't the purple flower pretty.

All along the top of this mtn. the houses are built right on the bluff or brow as we call it here . These homes have a view to die for ! Occasionally you can get a good glimpse between houses . They also have pull offs in just a few places. This is looking down on the Tennesse River . The mtn. in the background is Lookout Mtn. There was a battle fought there in the Civil War .

You can barely see the profile of some of the city in this pic . The haze you see is smog my friends .

And oh my gosh !! A UFO has landed in front of us !
Just kidding , this is a house . It was built about 1970 on the side of the mtn. about half way up. This house has had many articles written about it. I remember when it was built, I bet everyone in Chattanooga came to look at it. I wish I could have gotten a better shot of it . Behind the bushes is the entrance . It looks just like the door of the ufo has dropped down and there is a spiral staircase coming down. It recently sold for a ridiculous amount of money.

Hey, I think I saw that UFO house on HGTV - you know the show about strange houses?

That looks like one beautiful trip you took. Oh to live near the mountains!!

Wow...this all brings back memories from several years ago. I had looked at apartments/houses on Signal Mountain and Lookout Mountain...before finding one in Chattanooga. Lived there a short time...but saw alot of the surrounding areas...including the UFO house!!!

Theresa, I love your post today. You do live in a very beautiful part of our country. I would like to drive in the mountains up your way. Then I might get to see the UFO. Seriously it looks so weird in the mountains like that. It needs to be on HGTV's weird houses. Then we could see the inside.

Thank you for your sweet comment about Tanner. I am thrilled to see my daughter and her family ease their grief with Tanner. Her hubby hasn't seen him yet as she is visiting my daughter who lives in Kissimmee right now. She takes Tanner home today.

Love...Jeanne

Morning, Theresa! Oh, how beautiful is this. I'm very familiar with Lookout Mountain. I have relatives who live there, but in Alabama. Now, I do believe that is a UFO! Wonder if the people who live there are space cadets? lol
Be a sweetie and thanks for popping in to see my roosters.

Spectacular pictures, Theresa. We have a spaceship-type home in our area too. It was built in the 70s by a Miami Dolphin (pro football). Perhaps it was the same designer.

Weird, we have a space ship house in the Denver, Colorado area, but I think it was built in the 60's.

Love the photos! Love your area!
To live where there is Civil War history would be a real treat.

How beautiful!! The house reminds me of one that is here. I can't remember the history now or who built it. I'll have to do some searching. It looks like a UFO too!!

Hi Theresa,
You must live close to Mentone and Lookout mountain.

I have a friend that has recently moved there....before she moved, we all visited their vacation home 2 or 3 times a year. It's on the east side of Lookout Mountain. They had one on the west side for a few years and sold it.

Your pictures are beautiful!

Hi Theresa, You know I didn't want Obama to win but since he did I say give him a chance to be our president.
I refuse to be like the dems and bash him the way they bashed Bush. I am saying wait and see. Hope all is well with you my friend. Today I saw my knee doctor and had a very good report. Two more weeks of therapy. I am tired of three days a week my days are shot. It is a 50 mile round trip to therapy. sigh.

Love, Jeanne
