Let's Fry Some Apples ..................

Well you know I live in the south , and we have to fry everything down here . This is one of my hunny bunnies favorite things to eat. So let's get started .

First wash and peel the apples ; then quarter them and core them . Cut em up in big chunks . I use an iron skillet. I can't cook without my iron skillets .Ok, now put just alittle bit of oil , just enough to slide around and coat the bottom of the skillet . Throw those apples in and start cooking on medium high heat.Turn them ever so often .

When they are about half way done .........
Put you some dollops of butter on top of them ; as much as you like . And then sprinkle some brown sugar onto them and use as much as you like on these too . If you like cinnamon, put some of that on them also ; as much as you like.

Finish cooking and turning as you need to. Hunny bunnie likes them with a hot buttered biscuit. This will make you smack your grannie ! LOL

Something else I do sometimes is I slice up fresh sweet potatoes, get them to frying and when they are cooked about halfway done I add the apples to them and finish them off the same way as above.

We love fried apples..you do yours just like I do mine. J's Aunt Ruth said to put an onion in with them. I said...WHAT? She said it tastes great. I haven't tried it yet though. I have some Granny Smiths that I need to fry, soon.

I've been trying to catch up on blogging b/c I went out of town for about 24 hrs, and I missed your Signal Mtn. post. I had a college suitemate from there. Her dad was a preacher if I remember correctly. Funny the memories blogs can bring back! LOL!

When I was 13 I tried this for the first time. I was staying at my friend's beach house (luxury!) and her mother cooked a BIG breakfast every morning with fried apples, fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, and toast. Yum, yum!

Hi Theresa
I have never had that before but it looks soooo delicious. I can just taste the warm apple with the brown sugar and cinnamon. Yum. Apples and sweet potatoes together would be very good too. I will definately give that a try!
Have a nice evening.
