Went For A Ride Today ......................
Now mind you , hunny bunny and I have lived here all our lives and we never knew that there was a mennonite community this close to us ! We were out riding around today and about 1 1/2 hours from home we happened to just stumble upon this little community. My hunny seen two men in a horse drawn buggy crossing the highway and he said " I didn't know there was any Amish around here did you ? " and then he proceeded to turn around and go back to look for them . As he was turning around I seen a sign that said Farmer's Market and I said " after you see where they went , let's go to the Farmers Market" Well they were stopped at a garage of some sort, so we went on down the road looking for the market . And when we found it , it was this Mennonite community out in the middle of the countryside . It was beautiful ! We got out at their big produce building and loaded up ! I got cream peas , okra , tomatoes. lettuce and a watermelon .
Look at the 140 # watermelon ! The man said last year they had one that weighed 210#
And I really got a kick out of their sign they had hanging up ! It started getting crowded while we were there and I took some pics of their houses, they were quite far away so maybe you can see them . Look at the windmill that is beside one of the houses, and the man riding in the buggy . We were so excited to find this wonderful place today and we can't wait to go again soon . I have a feeling we will be coming here alot !
We went some more places today but I will continue this trip in my next post, because it is going on 1:00 am and I can't hardly hold my little peepers open !
So-o-o-o-o-o to be continued ......................

Loved your post! Living near an Amish country and a Mennonite country store, I can relate to your experience. Your photos are beautiful. You can almost taste the produce - it looks so real.
Have a great day!

Hi Theresa,
We have a wonderful farmer's market here too.
There is nothing like produce bought from them!
